Snakes, snakes everywhere

Käärmeet eivät ole kivoja - ne ovat siedettäviä ainoastaan kuolleina.

Tätä todistettiin Fredin kanssa vähän yli viikko sitten kun vietettiin viikonloppu farmilla. Oltiin uimassa uima-altaassa, kun Fred yllättäen sanoo "Viivi, come here.... There's a snake behind you" ja siellä totisesti oli käärme, uima-altaan kannella nimittäin. Ja vieläpä yksi tappavimmista käärmeistä :D En ole ikinä noussut uima-altaasta niin nopeasti (en ehtinyt käyttää portaita.... :D) ja juossut karkuun. Käärme oli puolen metrin päässä selkäni takana pystyyn nousseena, mikä tarkoittaa hyökkäysasentoa. Fred pelasti mut sillä erää mutta uimaan en enää mennyt :D

Snakes are not nice - but we can cope with them when they're dead.

That what happened over a week ago when we spent a weekend on a farm with Fred. We were swimming on a swimming pool when Fred suddenly said "Viivi, come here.... There's a snake behind you" and she surely wasn't lying because there were a brown snake on a deck of the swimming pool. It's one of the most dangerous snakes (or this is what they told us.) I've never got that fast out of the swimming pool!!!! The snake were about half a meter away from me behind my back. It was standing up which means it was waiting for a good moment to attack. Fred saved me that time but I didn't go to swim anymore :D

Meillä oli mukavaa farmilla. Saatiin ruokkia kanoja, lampaita, silittää lehmiä ja katsoa kun niille laitettiin korvalappuja. Ajettiin karjaa kasaan avolavalla ja valitettavasti nähtiin myös kuollut lehmä ilman päätä - luultavasti saman käärmelajin tappama kuin mikä vaani minua. Olimme siis lähellä Walgett-nimistä paikkaa, missä ei oltu saatu kunnon sadetta kahteen vuoteen. Hiekka pöllysi älyttömästi ja oli tosi kuivaa. Kokemuksena tosi hieno!

We had great time at the farm besides the snake thing. We fed chicken, sheep, we pet cows and watched when they put the ear things to them. We drove the cattle together by car and unfortunately we saw a dead cow without head - it was probably got killed by the same snake type which looked at me. So yeah we were at Walgett (or close to that place... :D) where they hadn't had good rain in two years. It was really dry and sand was flying on the air. I loved that experience.
